Andrea Cingoli continues to achieve important goals. After the successful 2018 edition, A’ Design Award and Competition, the coveted international design competition, has recognized his value once again. Indeed, the two projects presented in the 2021 edition, Oleg and Castelli di Ceramica, have even earned him 3 prizes: 1 Silver and 2 Irons!
And the Silver Award in the ‘Furniture Design’ category went to… Oleg! Oleg is a transformable storage unit, entirely made of wood, which changes its intended use depending on how it is positioned. Aesthetics, functionality and versatility all combined in one high-quality design element with a captivating shape! These characteristics make Oleg perfectly able to adapt to our constantly changing lifestyle. All this while remaining consistent to the innovative and modular concept that has inspired the designer from the very beginning.
Castelli di Ceramica, the other project awarded, has received 2 Iron Awards in 2 different categories: ‘Arts, Craft and Ready-Made Design’ and ‘Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design’. Castelli di Ceramica is a ceramic vase which has won over the judges thanks to the combination of craftsmanship and versatility. The Castelli ceramics’ typical features are respected: extremely high-quality pottery and traditional style handmade decorations. In addition, the Cingoli’s project enhance these historical characteristics with a modular system so it can be used in different ways. When closed it is mostly a design vase to be placed in the center of a table or to enrich a piece of furniture. While, when the modules are separated, each of them can be used as a refined bowl to have breakfast or a salad.
